Publication of the neutrality account

A neutrality charge is collected to cover the expected deficit from the use and settlement of imbalance energy. Revenues and costs incurred in this context are recorded in a neutrality account. The monthly balances are published in the process of the clearing.

The balance of the neutrality account is calculated as the difference between expenses and revenues from the clearing settlement and the costs/revenues incurred during the month from the settlement of physical balancing energy. Special costs and revenues from financial processing are also recorded.

Until 30 September 2022:

If the imbalance energy settlement results in a deficit or surplus, this shall be allocated to the BGR's in accordance with GMMO-VO 2012 § 32 (6), taking into account a development forecast using a consumption-based neutrality charge to the quantities of grid users in accordance with Section 18 (5) and (7) [daily balancing]. The neutrality charge will be set by the single clearing entity for the following three months.

From 1 October 2022:

The neutrality charge according to GMMO-VO 2020 § 24 (2) Z 3 ensures for each market area that the single clearing entity does not incur any profits or losses as a result of the clearing process in accordance with § 24 (2), 3 and 6, the grid balancing according to § 26, and the use and provision of physical balancing energy according to § 28.

In accordance with GMMO-VO 2020 § 24 (3), a differentiation in the amount of the neutrality charge, for allocated withdrawals to end consumers of the balance group in accordance with § 21 (1) Z 6 and for the sum of all allocation components of the balance group in accordance with § 21 (1) Z 1, as far as they relate to withdrawals, is permitted.

The neutrality charges for the period from 1 October 2025 to 31 December 2025 are set as follows:

  • 0,000 cent/kWh for allocations according to Section 21(1)(6) of the GMMO-VO 2020
  • 0,000 cent/kWh for allocations according to Section 21(1)(1) of the GMMO-VO 2020

The neutrality charges for the period from 1 July 2025 to 30 September 2025 are set as follows:

  • 0,000 cent/kWh for allocations according to Section 21(1)(6) of the GMMO-VO 2020
  • 0,000 cent/kWh for allocations according to Section 21(1)(1) of the GMMO-VO 2020

The neutrality charges for the period from 1 April 2025 to 30 June 2025 are set as follows:

  • 0,000 cent/kWh for allocations according to Section 21(1)(6) of the GMMO-VO 2020
  • 0,000 cent/kWh for allocations according to Section 21(1)(1) of the GMMO-VO 2020

The neutrality charges for the period from 1 January 2025 to 31 March 2025 are set as follows:

  • 0,000 cent/kWh for allocations according to Section 21(1)(6) of the GMMO-VO 2020
  • 0,000 cent/kWh for allocations according to Section 21(1)(1) of the GMMO-VO 2020

The neutrality charges for the period from 1 October 2024 to 31 December 2024 are set as follows:

  • 0,000 cent/kWh for allocations according to Section 21(1)(6) of the GMMO-VO 2020
  • 0,000 cent/kWh for allocations according to Section 21(1)(1) of the GMMO-VO 2020

The neutrality charges for the period from 1 July 2024 to 30 September 2024 are set as follows:

  • 0,000 cent/kWh for allocations according to Section 21(1)(6) of the GMMO-VO 2020
  • 0,000 cent/kWh for allocations according to Section 21(1)(1) of the GMMO-VO 2020

The neutrality charges for the period from 1 April 2024 to 30 June 2024 are set as follows:

  • 0,000 cent/kWh for allocations according to Section 21(1)(6) of the GMMO-VO 2020
  • 0,000 cent/kWh for allocations according to Section 21(1)(1) of the GMMO-VO 2020

The neutrality charges for the period from 1 January 2024 to 31 March 2024 are set as follows:
