In the balance group model valid until 30 September 2022, biogas injections were recorded in specific biogas balance groups set up for this purpose.

From 1 October 2022, biogas injections will be recorded for each plant in a separate biogas-specific component. The injection measurements are transmitted by the grid operator and form the basis for the issuance of biomethane certificates (the propane admixture is deducted when the certificates are issued). Biogas injections are thus integrated into the commercial balance group.
